Year 5: Small raise. Increase in responsibilities. Not entirely what was expected, but still nice.
Year 6: Been here for 6 years. Mixed feelings. Stay in bed all day.
Year 7: Dislike job. Look for new work. Receive distracting yet dishearteningly small raise.
Year 8: Dislike job more. Looking for new work again. Don't really follow through. More interested in the nearby happy hour specials.
Year 9:

Year 10: Celebrate a full decade, except those small raises are only matching inflation. Last real raise was actually 8 years ago.
Year 11: Settle in deeper....and deeper.
Year 12:
Divine
Year 13: Lay offs announced. Fear being dispensable. Employer confirms fear.
Year 14: New job. Reinvigorated.
Year 15: Accepted that new job is just like old job.
Year 16: Crisis of self. Wish dreams had been chased, but can't even remember what they were.
Year 17: Wish for a greater skill set instead of expertise on outdated business solutions and obsolete technology.
Year 18: Big promotion. Feel rewarded for years of experience and hard work.
Year 19: Now just supervising people doing old job so in essence, still doing the same job.
Year 20: Left out, burned out, worn down. Welcome routine. Complacent in life. Happy hour most exciting time of day.
